WHO AM I!

about me

hi! i'm sinchana - melomaniac and creator. classically trained in carnatic (south indian classical) vocal music and western piano (over 13 years!), i have so much respect for traditional arts but absolutely love seeing how they have evolved to shape the current music scene. apart from my classical training, i played flute in band for 4 years, sang in a rock band (just queen covers..) with some friends in high school, can strum a few chords on the ukelele and guitar, sang jazz at carnegie hall!, and am in a competitive acapella group in college!

tldr; music is everything to me & is how i've learned to connect with myself & the world around me! and hopefully i'll create some of my own to share soon :0

my favorite performances!

My vocal debut concert in Carnatic (South Indian Classical) music! (ie. 3+ hours of continuous singing, 4+ languages, 20+ ragas (scales), compositions from the 12th century & today, a whole lot of improvisation, and a whole lot of magic :)
